Two comments. True as the English have it so beautifuly horses for courses. Plus just some is a 10 and can save the day doesn’t mean the rest are worthless. Any football player understands that, but its often forgotten in the corporate world. Next time I tell you where I work
I feel this goes beyond wokeism or anything like that.
In fact, the first time I had this type of conversation was exactly 15 years ago when my boss at the time told me how she felt it absolutely makes sense to have "favorites" in a team.
At the time, I was not entirely persuaded by the argument but as I matured as a professional I could see the rationale behind it. I now 100% agree with it.

When stakes are high, play the most skilled player so the others can see how it's done and perhaps earn their opportunity later on.
